Britto Gallery Vandalized By Graffiti Artist

The name "C Dog" was painted in white letters

Romero Britto’s Wynwood gallery space was vandalized by a graffiti artist on the same night as a monthly art walk in the area, Beached Miami reported.

The name “C Dog” was painted Saturday onto Britto’s new gallery space, located at 146 NW 25th St. A picture provided by Yo Miami shows the black building covered halfway up the wall by the graffiti.

The tagging was done the same night as the Second Saturdays Art Walk, a monthly event in Wynwood and the Design District that draws visitors with music, art and food, according to the website.

Britto artwork has been vandalized before, as a Miami Shores piece titled “Beach Ball” has been spraypainted several times with the words “Not Art,” “Meaningless Bliss” and “error,” Beached Miami said.

Britto representatives did not return calls for comment Monday night.

City of Miami police told NBC 6 they received no incoming calls over the weekend to report the incident at the listed address.
