Broward Judge Suspended Without Pay

Broward County Judge Gisele Pollack has been suspended from office without pay based on a recommendation from the Judicial Qualifications Commission.

The commission said Judge Pollack was intoxicated on the bench on December 17 and later entered into an agreement where she said she would not use alcohol. The News Service of Florida reported that documents filed this week alleged Pollack was impaired on the bench March 19 as well.

The judge took a leave of absence for inpatient substance-abuse help, but left that program on May 1. Early the next morning, Pollack was in a car crash and faces charges from the accident of DUI, DUI damage with damage to property or persons and failure to use due care.

Judge Polllack’s suspension was issued by the Florida Supreme Court.
