Broward Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Domestic Disturbance

Martin Mahon, 57, was charged with one count of attempted murder.

A Broward man has been charged with attempted murder after what police say was a domestic dispute.

Martin Mahon, 57, was charged Wednesday for the Oct. 28 incident.

Fort Lauderdale Police said Mahon forced his way into the home of 48-year-old Gillian Johnston at about 6 a.m. The two had been in a domestic relationship, but had recently separated, according to police.

Police say Mahon and Johnston got into an argument that turned physical. Neighbors overheard the fight and called police. When officers arrived they found both Mahon and Johnston were severely injured from multiple stab wounds.

The two were taken to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition, but have since been released.

Mahon is being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
