Suspects Sought After Police-Involved Crash, Deadly Shooting in Brownsville

Police are looking for at least two suspects after two people died in a shooting and two officers were hospitalized after a crash Monday night in Brownsville.

ShotSpotter detected gunshots at around 6:55 p.m. in the area of Northwest 29th Avenue and 44th Street, police said. Four people were outside when the shooting happened, and two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspects fled the scene west on 44th Street and collided with a police vehicle a few blocks away at Northwest 32nd Avenue and 46th Street.

Two officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries but are expected to recover.

The two victims were identified as 25-year-old Thomas Williams and 20-year-old Malik Rolle. A third victim of the shooting was grazed by a bullet and a fourth victim was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the arm, police said.

Two suspects were taken into custody and police are still looking for at least two more men.
