Budweiser Truck Hits, Kills Person in Motorized Scooter in Ft. Lauderdale: Police

One person is dead after a Budweiser truck hit and killed a man in a motorized scooter wheelchair on State Road 84 and Southwest 15th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, police confirm.

Police say the truck was turning onto SR 84 early Thursday morning as the man was coming across the crosswalk in his motorized scooter. Initial reports indicate that the truck hit and crushed the man.

Police identified the victim as Terrence M. Sosenko, a 60-year-old resident of Fort Lauderdale.

The driver of truck is cooperating with the investigation. So far, no charges or citations have been filed against the driver and initial reports indicate that the man operating the scooter may have been at fault, police say.

As of 11:30 a.m., eastbound State Road 84 is closed to traffic at Southwest 15th Avenue as crews respond to the fatal accident. Investigators remain on the scene.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area.
