Burglar Tries to Bust Open ATM at Miami Building, Fails

Police are looking for a burglar who was caught on camera breaking into a Miami building and trying to use a cement block to open an ATM.

The burglary happened the morning of Nov. 12 at the building at 1251 Northwest 36th Street, Miami Police said.

A surveillance camera inside the building apparently crawling through the machine to get inside. Once inside, the suspect is seen repeatedly throwing the cement block at the machine, causing about $12,000 in damage but seemingly unable to get it open, so he leaves.

Police described the suspect as a dark skinned black male, 25 to 35 years of age, approximately 6-foot-0 in height, medium built, short hair, goatee, wearing long black pants, a black t-shirt and gray sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
