Burglars Hit Pembroke Pines Church

A Pembroke Pines church says that $6,000 worth of electrical equipment and supplies was stolen from a trailer that was parked in a lot near Pembroke Pines City Hall.

Pastor Chris Cassis of the church named The Source said at first his staff didn’t notice that the church had been burglarized because there was no forced entry. Cassis said the crooks picked the locks and committed the crime.

It wasn’t until church members began unloading the supplies did they realize they were victimized.

“We started noticing that a speaker was missing, a monitor was missing, wireless mics were missing,” Cassis told NBC 6.

The church, called The Source, is mobile and currently housed at the Regal Theater. Cassis said he moved from Michigan to Florida a year ago to start the church and has grown his membership from five to almost 60.

Cassis told NBC 6 that despite the problems caused by the robbery, they will stand united by their faith.

“It’s just a wall that’s been put up that He wants us to climb over and overcome,” Cassis said. “And it’s going to build up our faith and make us stronger and we’re going to be better for it in the long run.”

If you have any information about the robbery, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
