A central Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl.
State Attorney spokesman Spencer Hathaway told The Daytona Beach News-Journal on Thursday 34-year-old Jarod Hartshorn was convicted during a two-day jury trial.
Hartshorn was arrested Nov. 11, 2013, in DeBary. The child's mother told Volusia County Sheriff's investigators she caught Hartshorn, who was a family friend, abusing her daughter.
