Calling all Parrotheads: Legendary singer Jimmy Buffett will be hosting a free concert in South Florida Thursday to urge residents to “get out the vote” for one Florida politician.

The free concert will be held in support of Democratic candidate for governor Gwen Graham, according to Graham's campaign. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., but doors open at 6 p.m. The event, which will take place at the ArtsPark at Young Circle Amphitheater, is free and open to the public.

“She has a heart for people and a passion for the Sunshine state. She’ll protect our precious natural environment, ensure we have strong public schools and affordable health care,” Buffett said in a statement released by the campaign.

“It’s been too long since we have had a Governor for all the people. For that reason, I am supporting my friend, Democrat Gwen Graham, for governor and I encourage ya’ll to do the same.”

In the statement, Buffett also talked about how he believes Graham will follow in the footsteps of her father, Bob Graham. Bob Graham served as Florida’s governor from 1979 to 1987 and is also a former Florida senator.

“Like her Dad, Gwen will put the interests of everyday Floridians first," Buffett said in the statement.

Graham will be running against Andrew Gillum, former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine, Jeff Greene and Chris King. Election Day in Florida is Tuesday, August 28.
