Car Company Rams Florida High School

Chrysler says they are the only ram in town

In true high school fashion, Chrysler is playing the role of big bully and the students at St. Mary High are the nerds just trying to get through the day without losing their lunch money.

The major American car manufacturer has bullied - or more appropriately rammed - the Orlando school into giving up its mascot because it looks too similar to the emblem seen on vehicles like Dodge Ram and Charger.

Chrysler threatened a trademark infringement lawsuit against the Seminole County School System if the high school mascot design was not changed, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

The school had been using the ram mascot for a couple of years, replacing the old goat that wasn't quite so popular on T-shirts and school athletic uniforms. The ram logo also appeared on the gymnasium floor at halfcourt.

For the record, school officials had no plans of manufacturing cars in home economics class.

Somehow, Chrysler got wind of the logo and went on the offensive. Students and parents are outraged that the big bad car company would attack their school spirit, but dodging a lawsuit might not be such a bad thing.

Why would a school want to be associated with a company that needed a federal bailout and slumping sales anyway?

As for Chrysler, they probably wanted to keep this spat a little quieter because in the end they come out looking like the goat.
