Person Shot in the Face on I-95, Driven to Pompano Beach Gas Station

A person was shot in the face while riding in a car on Interstate 95 in Broward County and was driven to a gas station in Pompano Beach early Monday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said the shooting happened just before 5 a.m. on I-95 near the Broward Boulevard exit.

The driver of the car continued to the RaceTrac station near NW 6th Street and Atlantic Boulevard, and the authorities were contacted.

Footage showed troopers and Broward Sheriff's Office deputies investigating a silver Dodge Avenger at the scene with bullet holes across the entire vehicle.

A witness said they saw a woman and three young men in the vehicle and the female had been taken away in an ambulance. The car was later removed from the scene and business resumed as normal.

Officials said the driver left the gas station without giving details on the shooting.

The victim was brought to a local hospital where they underwent surgery.

The shooting remains under investigation.
