A fatal rollover crash in Miami caused traffic problems on a major roadway after the vehicle involved landed inside the field of an elementary school.

Officers and rescue crews arrived at the scene near Northwest 1st Street and 52nd Avenue around 1 a.m. in response to the crash which killed one person when a red pickup truck rolled over.

The vehicle landed inside of a field at Henry M. Flagler Elementary School, killing the driver who was identified as 38-year-old Alfredo Fernandez.

The westbound lanes of Flagler Street remained closed for several hours as police continue their ongoing investigation.
