Cement Truck Crash Closes Part of I-595 in Davie

The truck crashed into a barrier, leaving the right-side wheels suspended above ground.

A cement truck crash closed part of I-595 after one of the truck's tires blew out, causing it to crash against a highway barrier Wednesday morning in Davie, officials said.

The truck was traveling eastbound on the I-595 ramp to the southbound Turnpike when the tire blew out and the driver lost control, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

The collision left the truck tilted on its left side with the right-side wheels suspended above the ground.

Both eastbound and westbound ramps from I-595 to the southbound turnpike were closed for several hours.

Driver Alejandro Turbon, 44, was uninjured and there were no other cars involved, the report said.

Damages to the truck were estimated at $10,000.
