A Miami man whose Halloween beating at the hands of police in Coconut Grove was captured on video won't face charges after all.
Prosecutors dropped misdemeanor resisting an officer charges against Gilberto Matamoros Monday when the officer failed to appear in court.

Matamoros, 22, had originally been charged with disorderly conduct in the Oct. 31 incident, later posted on YouTube, in which a Miami police officer repeatedly punched Matamoros during his arrest.
"The charges should have been dropped to begin with," defense attorney Ricardo Martinez-Cid told the Miami Herald.
Two officers who were involved in the arrest have been reassigned while they're being investigated internally.
