A nine-year-old boy was badly burned Sunday night after playing with a flare gun Sunday night.
According to police, the boy was cleaning a boat with another boy at a home near Southwest 160th Court and 139th Street near Country Walk.
Police said the boy found a flare gun and the two began to play with it. That’s when the nine-year-old boy was burned.
He was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Police are now working to determine whether or not this was an accident.
