Cold Front Could Break Records This Weekend in South Florida

What to Know

  • This week's cold front could break some records in the coming days.
  • Conditions will get warmer as we head into the weekend.
  • Another cold front will arrive in South Florida on Monday.

After a record breaking warm February, March is feeling more like a typical January. The low Friday morning fell to 53 degrees in Miami, the coolest morning since 50 degrees back on January 19th. The low Friday morning in Ft. Lauderdale was 52 degrees, which was the coolest since 47, also set on January 19th.

We can expect warmer conditions as we head into the weekend, as highs will push into the low-mid 80s by Sunday. They won’t stick around, though. We are forecasting another cold front to pass through on Monday, possibly bringing with it the coolest numbers of March thus far.

Our forecast calls for a high of 69 on Friday in Miami with lows in the mid-50s through the end of next week. Average highs this time of the year come in at 80 degrees with average lows around 64.

The forecast high Friday is 72 degrees in Miami. If temperatures hit 72, it will be the coolest high since a reading of 64 on January 18th. In Ft. Lauderdale, the forecast high is 71, which will be the coolest high since a high of 70 degrees on January 30th
