Conspiring Casanova Pleads Not Guilty

He is facing two second-degree felony charges

The "conspiring Casanova" pleaded not guilty in a Broward court to two felony charges Tuesday.

Anthony Maldanado, 18, is accused of taking a woman on a date while his coconspirator broke into her home, stealing more than $4,000 in property.

Coral Springs Police say that Maldanado, who used the nickname "Florenciano Valentino," met the woman while at a party before he took her on a lunch date at Applebee's.

He also stole the woman's cell phone, and left her to pay the bill, police said.

Maldanado is charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and third-degree grand theft.

His next court date is set for May 24.

Authorities have not yet found the accomplice they say broke into the victim's house. Police ask anyone with information on the case to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493 -TIPS (8477).
