Cooper City Coach Accused of Sexual Assault Being Held Without Bond

A judge has made his decision concerning a youth baseball coach accused of molesting some of his players.

David Solomon asked to be released on bail. Following some emotional testimony from the mothers of the boys, a judge made a ruling on Friday.

Solomon is accused of abusing his position as a Little League coach to get close to the children who investigators said he sexually assaulted.

On Friday, his attorney questioned the way the evidence against his client was gathered, and asked the judge to grant his client bond.

"They questioned these children before they brought them over to Broward Sheriff's Office or Cooper City substation."

Prosecutors fired back.

"We are asking, your honor, to hold the defendant no bond. We are asking, your honor, because he is a danger to the community and within six weeks all of these victims are coming forward."

BSO is still working the investigation but right now, Solomon is accused of abusing two children. Each played baseball on his team for the Cooper City Optimist League.

In court on Friday, Solomon's attorney read a letter on behalf of his client's wife: "As a wife and a mother, I do not take the allegations against him lightly."

Solomon is facing several felony charges. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars. The judge decided to hold Solomon with no bond.
