One perverted Publix customer took the grocery store's "Where Shopping is a Pleasure" motto a bit too far this weekend.
Manuel Benitez Rodriguez, 40, was arrested Sunday at a Coral Gables Publix after an off-duty cop caught him taking pictures of women customers as they bent over to look at items on the store shelves.
Another customer in the store witnessed "The Publix Peeper" following women and snapping pics and told security.
When approached by an off-duty cop who asked to see his Blackberry, Rodriguez coughed up the device, which contained dozens of "voyeurism style" photos of women unknowingly snapped while shopping. It's unclear if allthe pics were taken at the Publix located at 1401 Monza Avenue.
Rodriguez admitted to taking the pictures and tried to reason with the cop, stating "I can't go to jail," before trying to make a break for it.
He was wrestled to the ground and charged with video voyeurism and resisting arrest with violence.
