Coral Gables Police Searching for Botox Bandit

Police are on the hunt for a Botox bandit. A thief targeted a South Florida plastic surgery center, stealing Botox and other chemicals and medical supplies.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at Miami Plastic Surgery MPS Medspa located at 1230 South Dixie Highway in Coral Gables.

"He knew exactly what he was looking for. He came in, went straight for the fridge where we have our products and also the examine rooms and got all the syringes," said Dr. Jose Rodriguez-Feliz.

Surveillance video shows a man wearing a Santa Clause hat creeping through the halls, ransacking each medical room.

"Fortunately, we have surveillance video and we saw one person that was able to come in. He was wearing a Santa Clause hat, he had a blue jacket, jeans and grey sneakers," Dr. Rodriguez-Feliz explained.

But what the suspect really wanted was Botox, and lots of it. He got away with $20,000 worth.

"There's a huge demand for Botox. You can only get it if you're a physician," Dr. Rodriguez-Feliz said. He also said in Miami there is a huge black market, and that could lead to shady and unsafe treatments.

If you know anything about this case or the man seen in the video, you're urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
