Judge Has Harsh Words For Accused Coral Springs Flasher

A Hallandale Beach man accused of flashing and masturbating in front of a 12-year-old girl and another young girl in Coral Springs went before a judge Thursday.

Jorge Garcia, 30, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of lewd or lascivious exhibition, according to a Coral Springs Police arrest affidavit.

Except for answering a few questions, Garcia did not say a word when the Judge John Hurley spelled out the disturbing details of his case.

"You represent an extreme danger to the community. It does appear you are preying on young girls," Judge Hurley said.

According to the affidavit, the incident happened April 24 in the parking lot of the Walgreens at 11750 W. Sample Road as the girl waited in a car while her mom shopped inside.

Garcia pulled up next to the car in his red pickup truck and exposed himself and began masturbating in front of the girl, the affidavit said. He fled the scene.

Days later, on April 30, a concerned citizen called 911 after Garcia, who was in the same truck, stopped and started talking with another young girl in the 11200 block of Northwest 26th Street, the affidavit said.

A school bus passed by and the driver saw Garcia had exposed himself and was masturbating, the affidavit said. The driver yelled "stranger danger" and the child ran away.

The 911 caller followed the truck long enough to get the license plate and also saw Garcia approach two other girls who ran away from the truck, the affidavit said. Police tracked Garcia down to his Hallandale Beach home thanks to the tag.

The victim from the April 24 incident later identified Garcia in a photo lineup, the affidavit said.

The judge had no sympathy for Garcia. He first set bond at $500,000 then he revoked bonds in other cases and ordered no bond at all.

"The community is not safe with you on the street," Judge Hurley told Garcia. It was unknown if Garcia has an attorney.
