Crews Battle Three Brush Fires in SW Miami-Dade: MDFR

Fire crews are again battling a series of brush fires in the area of Larry and Penny Thompson Park, off Eureka Drive, in southwest Miami-Dade.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews were battling three fires in the area of 12200 Southwest 184th Street Wednesday afternoon.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area around 127th Avenue and Eureka Drive due to road closures.

Concern has been growing over repeated grass fires in that area in the past few months.

Just a few weeks ago, crews were battling a fire that scorched 25 acres stretching from the park all the way to Robert Morgan High School along Southwest 179th Terrace.

Arson investigators are working to determine if these fires are being set intentionally.

This is a developing story and will be updated as new information becomes available.
