Authorities are investigating after a cross was left on a donation box at a Kendall mosque.
The cross was discovered at the Islamic School of Miami at 11699 Northwest 147th Avenue, president Naveed Anjum said in a release Thursday.
Anjum said it was the third incident in the past two weeks. A box filled with wires, metal pieces and a cutter, pieces of clothing with an American flag and a big wooden cross inside the prayer hall have been found at the facility, Anjum said.
Miami-Dade Police and other agencies are investigating the incidents and actively pursuing leads, Anjum said. He said parents are anxious because the facility also serves as a day care in the morning.
"ISOM condemns these cowardly actions," his statement said.
