Cuban Doctors Back in South Florida After Being Stuck in Colombia

A group of Cuban doctors that were stuck in Colombia for months are now back in South Florida.

About seven medical workers returned on Saturday after being in limbo in Bogota for nearly six months.

The doctors were sent to Venezuela by the Cuban government on a foreign-aid mission. But the doctors claim hostile conditions forced them to flee to Colombia.

The group reached out to the U.S. embassy for help, hoping to enter the United States through the 2006 Cuban Medical Professional Parole Program.

Many doctors are still in Bogota waiting for approval to enter the U.S.
