Davie Man Arrested After Swinging Machete In Bar Brawl: Police

A Davie man was arrested after he allegedly swung a machete at customers during a bar fight, police said.

Jony Jesus Saravia, 26, was escorted from Big Dawgs Sports Cafe located at 13010 W. State Road 84 Sunday night. He was accused of harassing female customers inside the bar, according to the arrest report.

After being escorted from the bar, witnesses told police that Saravia returned to Big Dawgs Cafe an hour later and jumped on top of the bar and started swinging a machete at customers.

Bar patrons began swinging pool sticks towards Saravia to disarm him, the report said.

Saravia ran out the front door and was later treated by Davie Fire Rescue at 562 SW 131 Terrace after calling and claiming that he was jumped and beaten. In the arrest report, officials said Saravia had a bloody face.

Saravia was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital and then transferred to jail where he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

His bond was set at $15,000 by Broward Judge John Hurley.
