Police are investigating after a man's body was found floating in the Miami River early Tuesday.

Officials from Miami Police and Miami Fire Rescue arrived at the scene near the bridge at Northwest 22nd Avenue before 7 a.m. after receiving a call.

The body of the Hispanic man who was in his 20s was believed to have been floating in the river for some time, officials said. The body was moved to a boat ramp nearby for transport.

Officials said they are looking into how the man died and are working to identify him.

The death is being categorized as unclassified until the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner determines otherwise.
