Police have launched a homicide investigation after a jogger discovered a man's body Friday morning at a playground of a Miami Gardens park.

Chopper footage showed several officers investigating at Scott Park, located off Northwest 15th Court and 176th Terrace. A woman in the park saw the man with an apparent gunshot wound to the head and called 911 around 6 a.m., according to the Miami Gardens Police Department.

The man was later identified as Kevin L. Willis, police said.

Willis was wearing a badge and a security uniform when he was discovered. He left his home just before midnight on Thursday, a preliminary investigation revealed. Detectives are looking for his vehicle, a 2007 Chrysler 300 with a Florida tag KEAD17.
