Delray Nudies Told to Go to Miami

Peacenik naturists not welcome up north

A group of nude peaceniks in Delray Beach has law enforcement officials in a tizzy and residents demanding they move to Miami if they want to go in the buff on the beach.

Nine men and one woman were caught getting naked on the beach two weeks ago, trying to make a 9-foot peace sign out of their bare bodies for a photo shoot.

While the group said it just wanted to gather and expose themselves for good, the display had some locals in the small Palm Beach County town wishing the nudists would head south if they want to get a little risque.

"I say go to Miami," an angry beach-goer told WPEC.

One man involved in the nude display has already been arrested, and it sounds like there could be more busts for indecent exposure.

The man who was arrested, David Armstrong, said Delray needs to give peace a chance.

"There's a bunch of us lying there and we're doing a peace sign," Armstrong told WPEC. "They fear us, they think we're freaks."

With the vice mayor insisting that Delray has no room or desire for nude beaches, it looks like the bare-all beachgoers will have to come to Miami, where "freaks" are more than welcome.
