A disturbance that was moving near the northwestern Bahamas is bringing some scattered showers and storms to South Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The NHC said there's a zero percent chance the system develops in the next 48 hours and a 20 percent chance of development in the next five days.
Still, the disturbance will bring periods of heavy rain along with strong winds to South Florida on Thursday. Rainfall totals will average 1 to 2 inches with the lowest amounts south of Miami and the highest amounts north of Fort Lauderdale.
Widespread flooding is not expected, but some localized street and urban flooding is possible on Thursday.
The disturbance is expected to turn northeastward and move over the western Atlantic, the NHC said.
