Dolphins Game Preview: Week 11 vs. Bills

The Dolphins will bring a two-game winning streak into a home game against the Bills on Sunday

The suddenly hot Miami Dolphins will host the 6-3 Bufallo Bills on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami has improved to 2-7 and is bringing a two-game winning streak into this contest. Buffalo meanwhile has dropped two of the last three games it has played and is fighting to stay alive in the playoff race. The Bills beat the Dolphins 31-21 earlier this season and Miami was still winless at the time.

Defense has been a key to Miami's recent success, after a dismal start to the year on that side of the ball. The Dolphins were ranked last in the NFL in points and yards allowed earlier this season, but have been in the middle of the pack lately. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen had his best game of the season against Miami, but has been towards the bottom of the league overall in 2019. The Dolphins will likely try and put some early pressure on Allen and keep their strong defense going.

Ryan Fitzpatrick failed to throw a touchdown pass in last week's win, after compiling three in the season's first victory. Fitzpatrick had a 88.0 passer rating against the Bills earlier this year and the veteran has a 77.5 rating overall in 2019. Fitzpatrick has settled in nicely as Miami's starting quarterback and has put an end to any competition with the Dolphins. Josh Rosen has not ran a play in over a month, after struggling in his five games played.

With Mark Walton still unavailable to a suspension, Kalen Ballage will see most of Miami's running opportunities again. Ballage only put together 43 yards on his 20 carries last week and is averaging 2.1 yards per carry overall in 2019. The 23-year old set a career-high the 20 carries a week ago, after being used sparingly across two seasons.

Mike Gesicki was targeted four times against Buffalo a month ago and he caught all of those passes. The tight end will likely be a target for even more passes in this game, as his role in the offense has increased recently. Fitzpatrick has sent 12 passes Gesicki's way over the last two weeks and those plays have been effective. The 23-year old has picked up 123 receiving yards in Miami's last two games, after compiling 153 in the first six games combined.

Avery Moss, Reshad Jones, Raekwon McMillan and Taco Charlton are questionable for this game. In addition, Ken Webster will be unavailable due to an ankle injury.

Sunday's game will get underway at 1:00 p.m.
