Dolphins' Dion Jordan Conditionally Reinstated

Dion Jordan was conditionally reinstated by the NFL on Friday following a season-long suspension

Miami Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan was conditionally reinstated by the NFL on Friday.

Jordan missed the entire 2015 season due to a violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy. This was the third violation for Jordan which landed him in hot water with the league. There is still no guarantee that he will be active when the season begins.

A conditional reinstatement means Jordan will need to undergo counseling and face another evaluation afterwards from the league. If the NFL determines that Jordan is fit to play at that point, he could be reinstated for regular season play.

Since being drafted third overall in the 2013 NFL draft, Jordan has not spent much time on the field. The Oregon standout hasn't produced much even during the limited playing time. Overall, Jordan has accumulated only 46 tackles and three sacks in his career.

At 26, Jordan still has time to turn his career around. The DE will need to do so fast however, as he could be approaching his last chance. The Dolphins appear to have every intention of playing Jordan if he is indeed reinstated. The amount of snaps Jordan will see could depend on how he looks before the season.

"I just turned 26 years old, so life starts to hit you in the face. Who are you outside of those shoulder pads and helmet?" Jordan asked. "And it's weird, but I feel like it's a blessing for me at this point in time to think about it, instead of waiting 'til they really tell me I can't play football no more."

If Jordan can become eligible to play and provide some useful production, he could be an extra boost to a potentially ferocious Miami defense. There are a lot of questions surrounding the defense for the Dolphins, but there is a great deal of talent there at the same time.
