Dolphins Top Falcons in Preseason Game in Orlando

The Dolphins beat the Falcons by a final score of 17-6 on Thursday in Orlando

The Miami Dolphins improved to 2-1 on the preseason with their 17-6 over the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday.

The game was considered a home game for the Dolphins, but was actually played in Orlando. This scheduling was due to the renovations at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami got on the scoreboard early into the second quarter. Finding the end zone was Arian Foster with his first rushing touchdown in a Dolphins uniform. Foster is vying for the starting gig at the running back slot with Jay Ajayi also in the competition. Foster had ten yards on five carries while Ajayi had 11 yards on his six tries.

Ryan Tannehill played the entire first half and was not overly effective. Tannehill was 20-29 for 155 yards and no touchdowns. Miami's starting quarterback threw one interception and had a QB rating of 67.5 in the game. It is likely that Tannehill will sit out next week's game and will next play in the regular season.

On the other side of the ball, Ndamukong Suh got off to a good start in this one. Suh was mostly absent from last week's game, but was active from the start against the Falcons. Unfortunately for Suh and the Dolphins, he fell victim to an ankle injury which ended his evening early.

Reshad Jones also had a good defensive day with an interception. Jones was able to carry the ball for 17 yards, after taking it away from Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. The interception was the first of the preseason for Jones.

The preseason will come to a close for Miami next Thursday at Hard Rock Stadium against the Tennessee Titans.
