Donald Trump Meets With South Florida Hispanic Supporters

Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump finally met with South Florida Hispanics -- after postponing a meeting with the group twice.

The real estate mogul held a town hall-style event at Miami-Dade College's Koubek Center Tuesday one day after his first presidential debate with Hillary Clinton.

The meeting was hosted by Republican Florida Representative of Doral Carlos Trujillo.

The event lasted no more than 45 minutes.

The first thing Trump brought up was Cuban Marlins Pitcher Jose Fernandez who died in a boating crash Sunday.

"I think Jose Fernandez was the epitome of this Hispanic movement, the Cuban movement. Somebody who leaves their country for a new life who makes it in America," said Trump.

The White House hopeful added that Fernandez was a star and that there was nothing like him.

"All over the world they're talking about this because it was such an incredibly horrible story to be cut down in your prime like that, but what a talent, what a great person," shared Trump.

The forum consisted of roughly 150 Trump supporters. They did most of the talking and Trump listened as they bashed Clinton and praised the GOP nominee.

"We watched the debate last night, you did an exceptional job. we're very, very proud of the way you handled yourself, the way you acted with class and dignity," said Rep. Trujillo.

Meanwhile, Clinton took a victory lap. Her campaign saying she won the debate.

"His demeanor, his temperament, his behavior on the stage could be seen by everybody. People can draw their own conclusions," said Rep. Trujillo.

Outside of Tuesday's forum, a small but loud group of protesters associated Trump with the KKK and racism.

"I'm undocumented and I think he's racist and I'm here to stay I work very hard and I'm here to stay," said protester Maria Bilbao.

Trump's motorcade drove right past them twice. The second time, making a surprise visit to Versailles Restaurant.

Trump leaves Miami for Melbourne where he's scheduled to hold a rally at 7 p.m.

Clinton will hold a rally in Broward on Friday but the exact details have not been released yet.
