A Doral youth football coach who called two young players "baby" and sent text messages offering to perform sex acts on them has been arrested, police said.
Fernando Alonso Hernandez, 24, was arrested Thursday on charges of solicitation of lewd and lascivious assault on a child, electronic transmission of child pornography and certain uses of computer or devices prohibited, according to an arrest report.
According to the report, Hernandez met the boys while serving as an assistant coach for the Doral Broncos football team at Doral Meadow Park.
One of the boys, a 12-year-old, said he started playing football at the park a year ago and formed a friendship with Hernandez, who started calling the boy "baby" and expressed his love for the boy, the report said.
Hernandez sent the boy a text message saying he would like to perform sex acts on him, and also told the boy he was gay and described his sexual relationships with other men, the report said.
"You are the best thing that has ever happened to me I love you," Hernandez texted the boy, according to the report.
The boy said he felt uncomfortable but was scared and felt pressured to ask Hernandez to stop, the report said.
The other boy, who is 13, also said Hernandez would call him "baby" but said he thought it was a joke and would also call Hernandez "baby," the report said.
Hernandez also sent a text to the boy offering to perform a sex act on him and later sent him a video of a man masturbating and a picture of a penis on Snapchat, the report said.
Hernandez was booked into jail where he was being held on $22,500 bond, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.

City officials said Hernandez has been a volunteer since 2017, and now has a court order to stay away from Doral Parks and Recreation.
"The City of Doral’s utmost priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our families and children. We will continue to work diligently to investigate the case and seek proper justice," the city said in a statement.
