The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Tropical Depression Ida is expected to weaken to a remnant low this weekend.
The depression's maximum sustained winds Friday are 30 mph (45 kph).
The depression is centered about 1,205 miles (1,935 kilometers) east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands and is moving north at 5 mph (7 kph).
The storm currently poses no threat to land.
