Drive-By Shooting in Miami Leaves 2 Dead, Including Firefighter

A Miami firefighter was one of two victims killed in a drive-by shooting early Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred in the area of NW 44th Court and 31st Court in Miami-Dade County around 1:28 a.m.

City of Miami Firefighter Chadrick Davis, 32, and 22-year-old Earnest Williams were shot and killed in the drive-by shooting Saturday, police said.

According to City of Miami officials, Davis was shot after attending a wake.

I am very saddened by the loss of one of our firefighters and the continued senseless violence in our community," said Miami City Manager Daniel J. Alfonso. "My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and to all of our firefighters."

Firefighters will be lining up along Northwest 19th Street and 10th Avenue to pay respects to Davis.

Miami Dade Police Department is investigating the incident.
