Driver Ejected From Bus After Being Struck by Another Vehicle at Miami Springs Intersection

The driver of a shuttle bus for a Miami-Dade hotel was rushed to the hospital after being hit by another car early Wednesday morning and thrown from the vehicle.

Crews arrived at the scene located near Northwest 36th Street and Palmetto Drive, located on the northern border of Miami International Airport, where the van from Clarion Inn and Suites was making a turn onto the eastbound lanes when it was struck by a BMW traveling westbound after allegedly running a red light – causing the van to spin and the driver to be ejected.

That victim, who was not identified by police, was rushed to an area hospital where his condition is unknown at this time. The driver of the other car was interviewed by police and a DUI unit before being taken to the hospital as well.

Northwest 36th Street remains closed from Palmetto Drive to Curtis Parkway in both directions as police continue their investigation.
