Driver Sought in Violent Aventura Road Rage Incident

Police are searching for a driver who left another person critically injured during a road rage incident in Aventura.

The incident happened the afternoon of Jan. 14 in the area of Northeast 182nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard, police said.

Officials said a car hit the victim and fled the scene southbound on Biscayne Boulevard. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Ran Gabay, was left critically injured.

Gabay had been on the way to the beach with his girlfriend and friend.

Police said the car may be a faded gold 2005 or 2006 Ford Focus with damage to the right front passenger side. Surveillance cameras captured photos of the car.

The car was later found thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, and police were speaking with a person of interest, officials said.

Witnesses described the driver as an older white male, heavy set, with grey hair, who was wearing sunglasses with yellow lenses.
