Driver Removed After Being Trapped in Rollover on Florida's Turnpike: Authorities

Traffic delays were expected on the northbound Turnpike near Coconut Creek Parkway

Authorities said they freed a driver who was trapped in his rolled-over truck for more an hour on the Florida’s Turnpike Monday afternoon.

The garbage truck rolled over on the northbound Turnpike at the Coconut Creek Parkway exit, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue’s Technical Rescue Team and members of the agency who are based in Deerfield Beach were on the scene, the BSO said.

It said there would be traffic delays.

Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky said the driver, who does not seem to have life-threatening injuries, would be taken by air to a hospital.
