Miami Gardens Police said Tuesday that they took into custody a driver in connection with last week’s deadly bus stop crash.

Mark Derefaka was arrested Tuesday afternoon, police said.

He faces one count of vehicular homicide in a reckless manner, four counts of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury and five counts of driving without a license or with a suspended license causing death or bodily injury, according to online Miami-Dade Corrections records.

Derefaka, 29, was being held on $75,000 bond Tuesday night, the records said.

Derefaka’s car was traveling at a high speed when it slammed into another vehicle before careening into the bus stop at Northwest 199th Street and Northwest 2nd Avenue last Tuesday, according to investigators.
