Driver in DUI Crash That Killed Roommates at Oakland Park Bus Stop Arrested: BSO

Glen Sturman, 49, was arrested earlier this month on multiple DUI charges

A driver who was under the influence when he struck two pedestrians who later died at a bus stop in Oakland Park last year has been arrested, authorities said.

Glen Sturman, 49, was arrested earlier this month on multiple DUI charges including DUI manslaughter in the March 2017 crash that killed 74-year-old William Peden and 68-year-old Martin Lutz, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said Thursday.

Officials said Sturman, of Margate, was driving a Ford F-150 truck on 15th Terrace near Commercial Boulevard when he lost control, veered off the road and onto the sidewalk where he struck Peden and Lutz, who were waiting at a bus stop.

Lutz died from his injuries nearly a month later, on April 28. Peden was placed in a long-term healthcare facility where he died earlier this year. The men were roommates who lives in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Sturman stayed at the scene of the crash. He was arrested and booked into jail, and attorney information wasn't available.
