Drunk Driver Kills Woman at Deerfield Beach Bus Stop: BSO

A drunk driver struck and killed a woman at a bus stop in Deerfield Beach Sunday evening.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. on the 1400 block of West Sample Road. Jamie Lynn Honaker, 41, was waiting at a bus stop she was struck by a GMC Safari van. According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, 56-year-old Mark Jusevic jumped the curb just before striking Honaker.

After the crash, investigators said Jusevic continued driving west for about two blocks. The van had extensive front-end damage and a flat tire as a result of the collision.

Honaker was pronounced dead at the scene by BSO Fire Rescue.

Detectives said Jusevic exhibited signs of impairment. He faces a number of charges, including DUI manslaughter, failure to remain at an accident scene, and failure to render aid. He is being held on $102,000 bond.

It is unclear if Jusevic has an attorney.
