After 16 seasons in the NBA - with just over 14 coming as a member of the Miami Heat - Dwyane Wade laced up his sneakers for the final time inside the AmericanAirlines Arena on Tuesday in the home finale for both the team and their legendary superstar.
Thousands of fans - including his wife, Gabrielle Union, as well as his three kids and celebrity friends like John Legend - turned out to pay tribute to the man who helped lead the team to three NBA championships while winning the hearts of South Florida for his success on the court and countless good deeds off of it for the residents of 'Wade' County.
Wade scored 30 points in his only start of the season, helping to lead Miami to a 122-99 win over Philadelphia. Despite the victory, the Heat were eliminated from the playoffs - meaning Wade's career will come to an end Wednesday night when Miami takes on the Brooklyn Nets.
