Eighteen-Year-Old Stabbed Half-Brother After He Refused to Leave Her Room: Deputies

Wilesha Shannon faces charges including aggravated battery and child abuse

An 18-year-old Boynton Beach woman was arrested after authorities said she stabbed her half-brother in the shoulder for refusing to leave her room, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Willesha Shannon was arrested and transported to Palm Beach County Jail. She faces charges including aggravated battery and child abuse, according to the newspaper.

Sheriffs said Shannon was watching a movie in her room when her 12-year-old half brother ran in with a laundry basket on his head, trying to be funny, a report said.

A fight ensued after he refused to leave.

Authorities said she knocked him to the floor, kicked his head and scratched his back, the Sentinel said. She is also accused of stabbing him in the shoulder with a kitchen knife.

After the boy’s brother took him and locked themselves inside of a room, Shannon then kicked down the door to find him defending himself with a machete.

It is unknown whether the 18-year-old has an attorney. She told deputies she grabbed the knife to defend herself.
