An elderly couple who were the victims of an armed home invasion robbery in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday morning had their Porsche stolen and later crashed, police said.
The robbery happened at a home in the 2300 block of Southwest 27th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale Police confirmed. The elderly victims were restrained in the home by two suspects, who were armed with handguns, officials said.
Detectives believe the suspects gathered several belongings then fled in the couple's Porsche Macan. The car was later found crashed and empty in the area of State Road 441 and Riverland Road, police said.
Officials said they're searching for the two suspects, and don't believe the couple was specifically targeted. No other information was known.
