Elderly Man Drives Through Crowded Starbucks

Elderly man ticketed for careless driving

An elderly man must have thought the entrance to a local Starbucks was the drive-thru after he plowed through the glass of the crowded coffee shop Tuesday afternoon.

The unidentified driver, said to be an elderly man, was trying to park at the Starbucks on Northeast 135th Street and Biscayne Boulevard when he mistakenly hit the gas pedal, sending his black Lexus careening into customers.

Five people were injured in the accident, including four people sipping their lattes inside the Starbucks. When police officers arrived, delicious coffee was spilled everywhere.

Three people were transported to the hospital, but their injuries are not known.

As for the driver, he has been ticketed for careless driving and expensive coffee abuse.
