An elderly woman was conned out of $10,000 by a man and woman who told her they needed her help to claim lottery winnings, authorities said Tuesday.

Caridad Martinez, 81, from Miami, saw a woman crying on a bench, saying that she had won the lottery but couldn't claim the money because she wasn't a U.S. citizen, City of Miami Police said.
