An elderly woman was fatally hit by a car in a Delray Beach Walmart parking lot, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Monday.
The woman, Anita Lobel, 78, was walking out of the store when a man in his 90s backed up into her, her son Evan Lobel told the newspaper.
"It concerns me that older folks are driving when they shouldn't be on the road," he said.
Anita Lobel was transported to the Delray Medical Center where she later died, he said.
Authorities said she was still awake when they left the hospital.
"It was a horrific accident," Evan Lobel was quoted by the newspaper as saying.
It wasn't immediately known if the driver faces criminal charges.
