Family Demands Justice For Teen Fatally Shot at Funeral

With her son on her mind and with her community behind her, a young mother is devastated but strong as she led a rally Tuesday night.

Serena Harold is waiting for justice after her 15-year-ear old son, James Isaiah Solomon, was shot dead August 27th while at a funeral for a family member.

"He was 15 years old and he's been my baby for more than half my life," said Harold.

Miami-Dade Police said a 22-year-old was also killed and four others were hurt when someone in a car opened fire at Northwest 83rd Terrace and 19th Avenue.

"If you would have told me two weeks ago that I would be standing here having a rally because someone senselessly took my son's life away, I would have said you're lying," said Harold.

"For my baby to go to a wake and grieve a death and I'm standing in front of you grieving. I can't comprehend it."

Flyers were passed around at Tuesday's rally. Residents asking the community to stop the gun violence that's taking so many young lives.

Harold cried out, "Let's put in work not only for my son but all the innocent babies who have lost their lives."

Police have raised the reward for information in the murder case to $13 thousand.
