Jada Page

Family, Friends Say Goodbye to Eight-Year-Old Killed in Drive-By Shooting

Family, friends and neighbors are saying goodbye to an eight-year-old girl Friday, who lost here life to a drive-by bullet.

Mourners flocked to remember Jada Page, who was taken away from them in a hail of bullets in late August.

Family and friends came to the Hadley-Davis Funeral Home Friday afternoon wearing special memorial t-shirts which have Page's picture on them.

Page was only 8-years-old, playing in front of her house, when gunmen pulled up in a car and fired at her father. He was hit several times but has so far survived the attack. He's still in the hospital. One stray bullet struck Jada and killed her.

Her death has resonated in a community already numb from countless shooting deaths.

Lori Hadley-Davis, Page's aunt, is in an excruciating position: she owns the funeral home, so she's mourning while at the same time, trying to run the wake service professionally.

"That's where the hard part comes in; I do this every day for a living, but when it hits your home it's just unbearable," Hadley-Davis said. "We're just praying that someone come forward, and we can apprehend who did this violent crime to Jada."

The reward is now up to $25,000. The family is hoping that will help entice someone to come forward with the tip that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 305-471-8477.
